About Jermaine

Jermaine Wilson is a Multi-Platform Writer for CTV News Toronto and CP24, Toronto’s Breaking News.

He also serves as the lead morning writer and digital producer for both platforms on the weekend. Over the past 12 months, his work has collectively attracted over 35 million page views.

Before his current role, Jermaine has contributed to top publications, including CTV National News, BNN Bloomberg, The Toronto Star, Yahoo News Canada, The National Post, and The Globe and Mail. At CTV National News, he wrote for television anchors such as Omar Sachedina, Sande Rinaldo, and Heather Butts, among others.

His reporting has also been recognized nationally: he was nominated for a 2025 National Newspaper Award (NNA) for his role in the Toronto Star’s citywide flood coverage. Additionally, he was previously selected by the Google News Initiative to represent emerging Canadian journalism at the 2022 CJF Awards.

Jermaine holds a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from the University of Toronto and has completed his studies in Contemporary Journalism at Centennial College. He has also been recognized with U of T's IRE scholarship and Centennial's 2022 Peter Dickinson Honour.

Beyond the newsroom, Jermaine has worked with numerous small businesses to curate branding strategies and establish their online presence.
